Learn to Meditate Course
(5 Weeks- 1.5 hr sessions) $170
Experience having a relaxed body, inner calm, peaceful serenity, better sleep, less pain, less anxiety, less mind ‘chatter' and a boost in your energy levels. This 5-week course, (1½hours per week), is designed to introduce you to many different basic techniques that firstly, help open up your breathing muscles, and secondly, teach you to focus your mind on staying in the present moment. You will be encouraged to start your own practice from the very first session. A companion meditation CD to work with at home is provided. Allow your meditation practice to draw you closer toward greater joy and balance in body, mind and spirit.

Active Living Course
Learn what you need to know in order to start your own personal, at-home exercise program. Topics include evaluation of your present level of fitness, stress reduction, weight loss and healthy eating, strengthening your core and lower back muscles, a personal stretching program, individualized progressive cardio program, strength training and balance improvement.
This is an experiential course and each class will get you physically and mentally involved and active.

PILATES TEACHER TRAINING
INTERMEDIATE and ADVANCED MAT CLASS LEVEL 2

~ 30 hours ~ 2 weekends
February 20, 21 and March 13, 14, 2010 ~ Saturdays 2-6pm & Sundays 9-6pm
This course prepares you to teach Intermediate & Advanced level Pilates-mat classes in a group health and fitness setting. It is open to instructors of Beginner Pilates and/or other movement-based disciplines, who have a good grounding in functional anatomy as it applies to Pilates. All candidates must have ongoing Pilates experience. If you have not taken and passed Level 1 at Harmoni, you will be assessed on an individual basis regarding your application.
• Focus: Intermediate and Advanced level Classic Pilates movements
• Functional Anatomy: Review and continuation from level 1
• Sequencing and Safety as they apply to the advanced exercises
• Focus on muscular symmetry in program-building
• Continuation of hands-on adjustments for the advanced Pilates exercises
• Cueing: More subtle verbal, visual and tactile cueing progressions for the int.ate/advanced student
• Review Session & Practical Exam
• 30 hours total ~ 24 contact hrs + 6 hrs observation or assisted teaching and exam
Instructor: Samya Tatone, Pilates Studio Owner, Teacher, Pilates Rehab.,Massage Therapist & and Bodyworker, returned home to Montreal in 2006 after studying and working in the UK for 14 yrs. Samya is a member and graduate of the Pilates Foundation UK where she completed 2 years of comprehensive Pilates training. She is also a member of the Pilates Method Alliance and AMTWP(massage and bodywork), and holds qualifications with the Pilates Institute (UK), AFAA (US) & AQIMA (Que). Samya's 17 years of experience and dedication to the fitness industry has seen her teaching and leading groups in Canada , Jamaica , Italy and the UK . Besides owning her own Pilates Studio in London , England and working with tri-athletes and referrals from physiotherapy clinics, Samya also gives workshops to fitness professionals on topics such as Pilates mat-work, Back-Care and Pre/Post-natal Pilates. Her keen eye, precision and unique, fun teaching style make her an inspiring teacher who will expertly guide you towards “discovering your body's potential' (her motto), and teach you how to guide others to do the same.

~ Successful completion of this course depends on full participation and attendance, completed homework assignments and observation hours, with a min. 80% on written & practical exams. You will then be awarded a final Certification of Completion from Harmoni Holistic Health Centre & Studio.
