A Medicine Wheel can best be described as a mirror within which everything about the human condition is reflected back. Compassionate Communication for Couples

This evening workshop will present a most powerful interpersonal communication process based on Marshall Rosenberg's work with Nonviolent Communication (NVC). Following a brief overview of the principles and steps of NVC, we will focus on one of the deeply enriching practices it suggests, that of expressing gratitude. Though gratitude is but one aspect of NVC, it is a powerful one, one that allows us to remember the fundamentals of why we are choosing to be together. It generates a strong foundation upon which we can then bring up things we don't appreciate. This can then be done in a safer environment, one in which we have basic trust that we matter for one another.

We wish to make this workshop deep, meaningful and fun. Being a couple who have based our relationship on NVC principles and practice, we are delighted to present to you this most exciting tool that fosters both respect and authenticity. Eventually, NVC allows each person to move toward moment-to-moment transparency and an enhanced ability to listen with care and wonder. This introduction may lead to setting up a couples' retreat later on.

Is this workshop for me? For us? Maybe, if…

We have been recycling the same arguments without solving anything for a while;

We are very nice to each other and our life has become dull;

I have become nitpicky and exasperated about almost everything my partner does;

I have trouble hearing what my partner really wants me to hear;

There are taboos between us, things we just don't bring up anymore.

My ideal couple relationship is…

To live fully the love I feel,

To be true to myself while deeply honoring my partner,

To be heard and accepted, and returning that to my partner

Shamanic Journey

$40

As interest in healing methods has grown and become more mainstream, and as researchers have discovered the universality and remarkable results of shamans, there is a widening interest in living, healing and working on the Shamanic path. This interest has been furthered as the laws now being expounded by theoretical physicists are congruent with the shaman's understanding of reality and the other worlds. Ancient sages of both Eastern and Western disciplines have utilized the major part of Shamanic processes.

In this workshop we go on a magical, mystical journey and meet with our power, (spirit), animal, and receive messages from our spirit guides. You will be guided through visualization and the sound of the drum, to “travel” to the worlds where the animal spirits live. In this world, you will find your power (or spirit) animal, the animal who is guiding you right now. After spending some time with the animal in your vision we return and have a nurturing discussion, interpretation and sharing of your journey.

Presenter: Jessica Romano, Holistic spiritual therapist, Visionary artist, musician and student of Shamanic studies, gives life-transforming healing, meditation and healing-arts workshops
